Seasonal Events
Thank you to everybody who joined us at this year’s Summer Fair! We’re very grateful to all who volunteered their time to set up and tidy away and to the singers, musicians, DJ’s, and chefs.
We are always looking for more people to get involved in our events so please do get in touch if you are interested.
Hope to see you at our next events - here are this year’s dates for your diary:
Harvest Festival - 26th October
Cow Christmas Fair - 7th December
At this year’s Cow Christmas, Garden Folk will be putting on a farm pantomime of Jack and the Beanstalk! We welcome MUSICIANS and EVERYONE who would like to take part whether it be performing, singing or costume-making..
Volunteering
Volunteering this year is happening Friday mornings 9am to 12pm. We finish the work with a nice cup of herbal tea together at 11:30. In May and June and perhaps throughout the year there will be some additional Saturday workdays, dates to be announced.
Other volunteering opportunities: I am also seeking someone who is experienced in finding, writing and securing funding bids. Please get in touch if you or someone you know might be interested.
Get in touch if you’d like to get involved in the garden, at our events or if you have any other particular skills you would like to share
Other news
We have had a busy June so far with the Summer Fair, Get Growing Trail open gardens and two workshops funded by Bristol 2030. We welcomed Rosanna Morris in carving a communal lino cut design celebrating seed saving which will be printed at our Harvest Festival. Then for the more practical steps for seed saving we had Dan Fox from Two Acre farm demonstrate how to breed your own tomato variety!
Cards
Alex, V and Cecile have flexed our creative muscles and made some greeting cards to raise funds to support our work in the garden. As you may have noticed the climate for growing is very challenging and so to build resilience in our Buisness we have introduced these cards as a way to support us at any time! Buy them from us directly or soon to be found in our online shop. We are looking for retailers too so do get in touch if you would like to buy wholesale.
Prints
One of our dedicated volunteers, Cécile Maïa Pujol has printed some beautiful photographs of the garden and the volunteer team now available. 100% of profits go towards tending the garden, available from our stall and soon to be available from our website.
That's all for now! From Alex and Garden Folk Team
